SW-45 Freefall Lifeboat Davit for Rig
The Norsafe SW- davit is specifically designed for safe and efficient launch and retrieval of Norsafe free fall lifeboats. It is intended for long term, reliable operation in harsh and hazardous marine and offshore environments. The davit system is designed in accordance with latest SOLAS and classification society requirements.
The system consists of a skid way (launch ramp) and a large lifting beam where a trolley and an electric winch is installed (Crane class: 1Am according to FEM). The winch is used to lower/hoist the empty lifeboat through an opening in the davit structure, and the trolley is used to position the lifeboat in the horizontal direction. The system is not designed for lifting the lifeboat and personnel.
For this solution, it is intended that the trolley and winch are only installed on the lifting beam during installation of the lifeboats. When all lifeboats have been installed and tested, the trolley and winch shall be removed and stored onshore. The trolley and winch will be transported offshore and installed when required.
The system provides:
- Free fall launch of the fully loaded lifeboat.
- Free fall launch of the fully loaded lifeboat with 20º list and 10º trim, completely
independent of any power supply. - Recovery of the boat.
